Biography
Mr. Kramer is a Program Manager on the Metals Business Unit Technology team at the Advanced Technology Institute. He is involved with the development of copper as an antimicrobial agent in hospitals and HVAC systems.
As an officer in the U. S. Navy for seven years, Mr. Kramer served on three ships, as well as one shore facility and in a variety of leadership and management positions. During that time, he managed many diverse projects, including leading the overhaul of an aircraft carrier propulsion plant while in a shipyard.
Since leaving the Navy, Mr. Kramer has worked in different manufacturing management positions, ranging from project management to plant management. Projects managed included twice moving into a new manufacturing facility, and introducing new products to the company and workforce.
Mr. Kramer is in the Navy Reserve, where he recently completed a yearlong tour in Afghanistan. He was a member of the International Security Assistance Force, working with over thirty-seven countries in an effort to rebuild Afghanistan after more than thirty years of conflict. His assignment was in the psychological operations field, which enabled him to meet many Afghans, from members of very remote villagers to the highest levels of the Afghan government. His efforts during that time earned him the Bronze Star Medal.
Mr. Kramer was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in English from the U.S. Naval Academy and is currently working on his MBA from the University of South Carolina. He is certified as a Project Management Professional.
