Michael T. Kutch, Jr. is the Department Head, Intelligence and Information Warfare Systems Engineering at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) in Charleston, South Carolina.  He is also the SPAWAR National Competency Lead for Information Assurance 5.8 and the Deputy National Competency Lead for ISR/IO 5.6. He leads a unit of more than 600 engineers, technicians, experts, and support personnel who serve U.S. warfighters in such areas as Signal Exploitation Systems, Information Assurance, and Homeland Security.  He chairs the Command Management Steering Group, created the Engineering Process Office, and was principally responsible for standardization of the organization’s engineering processes.  Mike also led the Command’s CMMI efforts to Maturity Level 3.  He was appointed by The Charleston County Legislative Delegation to serve on the Lowcountry Graduate Center Advisory Council.  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and his Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Alabama at Huntsville.
