Q: How many members does the Charleston Chapter have?

A: Currently the chapter has 196 active members

 

Q: What industries are represented?

A: The chapter membership represents a wide variety of industries in the Tri-County area.  Members work for the government (including government contractors), various branches of the military, the financial industry, private consulting services, the medical industry (including major area hospitals)

 

Q: Must I be a member of PMI or the Charleston Chapter to attend meetings?

A: Membership in PMI and/or the Charleston Chapter is not required to attend our monthly meetings or annual event.  We encourage those who currently work in project management or a related field; as well as, those who are interested in project management to attend.  

 

Q: Do I need my PMP to join the chapter?

A: PMP certification is not required to join PMI or the Charleston Chapter.  The chapter does offer several resources for members and potential members interested in learning more about the certification such as information on preparatory classes and the exam.

 

Q: I am a new member to PMI, when will I hear about the chapter meetings and events?

A: It takes approximately 6 weeks for PMI to update chapter membership lists and publish the information.  If you have joined PMI and the Charleston Chapter and would like to immediately begin benefiting from your membership please contact the VP of Membership.
