VP of Community Outreach - Steve Mauldin, PMP

Steve Mauldin is the President of New Pond Associates, Inc.  Prior to establishing this firm, he was a Senior Manager in the Organizational and Transportation practices of Arthur D. Little.  He leads major process, organizational change and educational strategy/delivery projects within a variety of industries and government agencies around the world.  He also served as a Visiting Instructor at the College of Charleston teaching Organizational Behavior and Project Management.

Steve is an active volunteer at Crisis Ministries and a member of the Advisory Board of Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) at the College of Charleston.  He holds a BA from The Citadel and a Masters and Doctorate from the University of Georgia.

VP of Community Outreach Position Description

 

All Officers are expected to attend and assist in the operation of every monthly Chapter lunch meeting and attend every monthly Board business meeting. This is a minimum time commitment of two lunch meetings per month.

 

The VP of Community Outreach shall be responsible for chairing and recruiting directors for the Community Outreach Committee.  This committee is responsible for developing business relationships within the community including corporate, non-profit and other professional associations.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • To prepare and present an annual chapter community outreach plan to the President; for review and approval by the Board of Directors.
  • To appoint and direct the activities of the community outreach Directors in delivery of community outreach programs including, but not limited to:
    • Programs to solicit chapter participation from local companies
    • Sponsorship and corporate marketing programs
    • Education for local Executives regarding the value of Project Management practices and the local chapter activities
    • Perform as liaison between local chapter and non-profit organizations, local professional organizations and government entities
    • Coordination and delivery of all chapter award programs
  • To represent the chapter at local and national PMI functions, as well as at local businesses, service organizations, government and university functions.
  • To turn over all records to successor in a timely manner.
