   VP of Professional Development -

   Kim Hranowsky

 

Kim has over 18 years experience in software development project management, product management and systems design.  Her experience covers technology projects in industries including healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and government.  Kim helped define and implement an enterprise-wide project management capability for the largest provider of online bill pay applications in the U.S.  She built a team and methodology that supported a multi-million dollar portfolio and was the co-author of the Project Management Guidebook for the 4000-person organization.  Kim specializes in process design and building project management capabilities within high-performing technology organizations.  Kim is currently working for WareOnEarth Communications as a program management consultant supporting Department of Navy technology projects.

 

Kim graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  She earned her PMP in 1999 and her Certified Project Manager designation in 2002.  She also received her Six Sigma Green Belt certification from GE. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter boating, going to the beach and traveling.

VP of Professional Development Position Description

All Officers are expected to attend and assist in the operation of every monthly Chapter lunch meeting and attend every monthly Board business meeting. This is a minimum time commitment of two lunch meetings per month.

The VP of Professional Development shall be responsible for chairing and recruiting directors for the Professional Development Committee.  This committee is responsible for identifying and developing programs to assist in the professional development of the project management community including educational presentations for each regularly scheduled chapter meeting.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • To prepare and present an annual chapter professional development plan to the President; for review and approval by the Board of Directors.
  • To appoint and direct the activities of the Professional Development Directors in delivery of educational programs, activities and materials including, but not limited to:
    • Rolling four month schedule of events
    • Program structure, agenda and style for all professional development related events
    • Reward and recognize members for certification achievements and professional development milestones
    • Maintain a display of PMI Marketing literature regarding professional development and certification opportunities at all events
    • Provide information on educational opportunities for membership including chapter sponsored programs and local college and university programs
    • Special equipment needs such as projectors, microphones, flip charts and display tables
  • To submit PDU information to PMI and to VP of Communications for submission in chapter newsletter and web postings.
  • To coordinate mentor resources for members seeking a mentor or mentee within the project management profession.
  • To submit monthly educational articles to VP of Communications for submission in chapter newsletter and web postings.
  • To represent the chapter at local and national PMI functions, as well as at local businesses, service organizations, government and university functions.
  • To turn over all records to successor in a timely manner.
