President Elect - Pat O'Hearn, PMP

Pat currently serves as the Vice President of Program Management Services for Parker SCItech, LLC; a local small business consulting company that Pat helped to found.  Besides managing the practice, Pat is also involved in directly supporting customers.  His current engagement is to develop and establish an Earned Value Management System as well as a Program Management Office for a Department of Defense organization.   

Pat has been a member of the Charleston Chapter since 2003 and has served as President of the Chapter 2004 – 2006; and as Past President in 2007.  He received his Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification in 1997.

Pat has worked in various Project and Program Management capacities throughout his career.  He is married with 3 boys; and is a rabid Florida Gator Fan, his alma mater.  He has been actively involved with Cub Scouts, serving as all of his sons’ den leader, as well as various other positions within the Pack.

President-Elect Position Description

All Officers are expected to attend and assist in the operation of every monthly Chapter lunch meeting and attend every monthly Board business meeting. This is a minimum time commitment of two lunch meetings per month.

 

The President-Elect shall be responsible for planning and managing strategic projects identified in the annual strategy planning process.  The President-elect will also assist the President and represent the President in meetings where the President is not present. 

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • To assume the roles and duties for the President in his or her absence.
  • To prepare and present a monthly project status report to the Board of Directors.
  • To appoint and direct activities of an elections coordinator.
  • To develop a project plan, budget, schedule and statement of work for strategic projects designated by the Board of Directors.
  • To interface with the sponsoring board member and the VP of Finance on all financial matters of assigned projects.
  • To arrange projects activities with chapter officers and necessary committees to ensure projects are completed on-time and on-budget.
  • To represent the chapter at local and national PMI functions, as well as at local businesses, service organizations, government and university functions.
  • To turn over all records to successor in a timely manner.
